Weddings in Wellington happen mainly during the summer months from November to April. There is a large variety of different wedding styles possible within the Wellington region; from urban style weddings in the CBD, to beach style weddings on the Kapiti Coast, or country style weddings and wineries nearby in Wairarapa. Some of the most popular wedding venues in Wellington region are Boomrock, Rose & Smith, Tarureka Estate, Milk Station and Sudbury.

  9. Aperitif —perfectly suited for a smaller wedding as its quite small and cozy and has a contained garden space for ceremonies, and a covered courtyard and cozy bar area.

Outdoor and garden wedding venues in Wellington, NZ

  1. Rose and Smith —Perfect for that summer garden bbq feel in a glamorous way! It has multiple outdoor garden areas where you can have your ceremony underneath huge trees. Lots of shade and the large trees also shelter this spot from wind and rain giving it it's own little micro-climate. The chefs also cook on a big outdoor oven that wafts the scent through the air and set the tone for a relaxed summer feeling.

  2. Boomrock —If you love the outdoors and spectacular views; this venue is right on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Tasman sea and coastline. The lodge and ceremony spot overlook the ocean with 360 degree views. This landscape makes for Incredible photo backdrops and look great stormy or sunny.

  3. Otari Wilton Bush —Native bush that’s a great backdrop for photos.

  4. Pencarrow Lodge —360-degree view around the Wellington coastline.
