Emma and Mike got married at the stunning Mudbrick restaurant on Waiheke island!
They got super lucky with the weather, sneaking a first look just before it got rainy and windy.
While first looks can sometimes feel a little contrived, these two decided they mostly just wanted to be together, just the two of them before their public ceremony.
They met on a remote beach, and read each other their vows for the first time.
Rather than it being for the photos, it was for them, a moment to express how they felt before being in front of everyone - it was a special and emotive experience, that did in turn lead to some great photos!
Emma and Mike then got married in a stunning indoor courtyard, with a floral nest arrangement on the ground behind them (- beautiful idea right? More floral nests please!)And had the most incredible laid back afternoon and evening of mingling and eating.
We loved how Emma and Mike broke all the rules in the best kind of way!
They priortised experience and skipped traditions that weren’t them; seeing each other before the ceremony, forgoing a long headtable and serving cheese and crackers instead of a cake.
